Volleyball Adds Pair For 2013 Season

The Northwood University volleyball team has announced the addition of a pair of players for the 2013 season.

Siyao (Lydia) Li (Xi'an Shaanxi, China) and Birta Bjornsdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland) will both transfer to NU and compete this fall.

"The addition of Lydia and Birta has solidified our remaining roster needs," said Koth. "They both bring a great deal of experience to the program and along with early signee Marissa Pomeville make a very strong class joining us this fall."

Li is a 6-4 outside/opposite hitter.  She comes to Northwood from NJCAA D-1 power Miami Dade where she competed for one season. 

Bjornsdottir stands at 5-8 and is a setter.  She will join NU after one season at the University of Montevallo and as a member of the 2012 Norwegian National Champions in Iceland prior.

The defending GLIAC Champion Timberwolves will open pre-season training on August 18th.
