Sydney Hasenfratz Named G-MAC North Division Athlete of the Week
MIDLAND, MICH. – Sydney Hasenfratz, a redshirt junior on the Northwood University volleyball team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) North Division Athlete of the Week.
This marks the fifth time in her three-year career that Hasenfratz has earned Athlete of the Week honors.
Hasenfratz led Northwood to a 2-0 start in conference play with a pair of road wins last week. She averaged 3.56 kills, 1.33 blocks and 4.33 points per set. Hasenfratz ended the week hitting .349, totaling 32 kills and 10 errors on 63 attempts. She had 13 kills and five blocks in a 3-1 win at Cedarville. Hasenfratz then had 19 kills and seven blocks in a 3-2 comeback victory at Ohio Dominican.
Northwood is currently 8-1 to open the year, their best start through nine games since 2008. NU will host a pair matches this week – Tuesday (September 24) against Alma and Wednesday (September 25) against Saginaw Valley. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
