INSIDE THE MATCH
- The opening set was close most of the way. With the score tied 13-13, the Cardinals scored four straight points to take a 17-13 advantage. Northwood came right back, scoring the next six points to go up 19-17. The score was level at 22-22 when the Timberwolves put up three of the final four points to take the set 25-23 for a 1-0 lead.
- NU took and 8-4 lead in the second and maintained their advantage the rest of the set. The Timberwolves pushed their lead to 13-7, but the Cardinals did not go away. SVSU cut the lead down to 13-12 and 17-16 before the Timberwolves scored eight of the final 11 points. That gave Northwood the second set 25-19 and a 2-0 overall lead.
- The Timberwolves took control of the third set, jumping out to an 11-4 lead. SVSU got no closer than five the rest of the way. NU eventually took the set 25-17 to sweep the match.
