Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match To Findlay

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • Northwood came out hot at the start of the match, scoring five of the first six points to force a Findlay timeout. The Oilers chipped away at the advantage, eventually taking the lead at 12-11. The remainder of the set was tight, as the largest lead for either side was three points. Findlay appeared ready to close out the set leading 24-21, only to see the Timberwolves respond with four straight points to earn a set point at 25-24. On their fourth set point, Findlay took the opener 28-26 for a 1-0 lead.
  • The Oilers scored the first point of the second set and maintained the lead the rest of the way. UF closed the set out on a 7-1 run to take the second 25-13 for a 2-0 lead.
  • Set three was tied 8-8 when the Oilers put up a 5-1 run to go up 13-9.  NU was within two at 18-16 when UF made the final push of the contest, scoring six straight points to earn a match point at 24-16. Findlay eventually closed things out at 25-18 to earn the sweep.
