Volleyball Earns Fourth Straight Win, Sweeping Malone 3-0

RECAP: Northwood Volleyball earns its fourth straight win, sweeping Malone 3-0 Friday night (November 7).

INSIDE THE MATCH

  • Northwood scored the first three points of the match and did not allow Malone to lead at any point of the opening set.  NU led 6-5 when the Timberwolves scored 17 of the next 22 points to take a commanding 23-10 lead. Northwood went on to take the opening set 25-12.
  • Malone played much better in the second, starting with the first three points of the set. The Pioneers led the majority of the way and were up 22-16 when the Timberwolves made their run. Kylie Goodman came into serve and keyed an 8-0 run for Northwood to take a 24-22 lead. Malon responded with three straight points to tie the score at 25-25, only to see the Timberwolves take the final two points to win the set 27-25 for a 2-0 lead.
  • The final set was tied 4-4 when NU took over. The Timberwolves put up three straight and 12 of the next 16 points to go up 16-8.  Northwood led by as many as 10 before taking the third 25-19 to finish off their fourth straight sweep.
