Cross Country Competes At Lock Haven Invite In the Keystone State

OVERVIEW – Lock Haven Invitational

LOCATION: West Branch Cross Country Course – Lock Haven, Pa.

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's cross country competed at the Lock Haven Invite on Saturday (September 27). Northwood's men placed eighth and second overall in their particular races, and the women took second.

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS CRIMSON)

• Northwood placed eighth overall with 208 points. The Great Midwest's No. 25 nationally ranked Walsh and Ashland finished second and third, with 79 and 80 points, respectively.
• Newcomer Matt Grindrod was Northwood's first finisher, taking 18^th in 25:02.7. His mark puts him seventh overall on Northwood's all-time top-25 performers list.
• William Haw also jumped in the Northwood's top-25 all-time with his 22^nd best mark. He finished in 25:38.4.
• The top five finished in a total time of 2:08:42, averaging 25:44 with a 1:01 spread. With seven runners, the team recorded a total of 3:01:32, an average of 25:56, and a 1:40 spread.

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS WHITE)

• Northwood's men finished second overall behind Ashland with 113 points.
• Brandon Thompson was Northwood's best runner, finishing 19^th in 27:31.4.
• The top five finished in a total time of 2:18:33, with an average of 27:42 and a spread of 0:22. Extending to seven runners, the Timberwolves posted a total of 2:46:43, averaging 27:47 with a 0:39 spread.

• Leyton Minuth: 23rd – 27:37.7

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS CRIMSON)

• Northwood women's cross country placed 19^th overall with 501 in the Lock Haven women's crimson race.
• Kaylee Aultman led the Timberwolves, finishing 90^th overall in 23:57.2. Aultman's new personal record is now the 24^th-best in program history.
• The top five Timberwolves finished with a total time of 2:02:40.9, averaging 24:32.2 per runner, with the spread between the first and fifth finishers being 1:17.8.
