Bill Gorski's name is found throughout the Northwood University record book. He still holds school records for home runs in a career (32), home runs in a season (15), career slugging percentage (.660) and slugging percentage in a season (.875). Gorski also ranks second in school history with 10 career triples. He had the distinction of finishing his career tied for the most home runs hit by a collegiate player in the state of Michigan with two future Major Leaguers – Kirk Gibson and Chris Sabo. He earned All-GLIAC honors in his final three seasons at Northwood and was a two-time NAIA All-District 23 selection. An excellent student, Gorski also claimed CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 1983.
