GAME HIGHLIGHTS (SCHEDULED FOR NINE INNINGS)

  • Northwood got off to a good start in the game as two batters into the game, Evan Larson connected on a two-run home run to give Northwood a 2-0 lead after one inning.
  • Davenport responded in a big way in the top of the second, scoring 11 runs. Seven of the runs were scored with two out to give the Panthers a nine-run lead.
  • DU scored two more runs in the top of the third to make the score 13-2.
  • The Timberwolves put up four runs in the bottom of the third, starting with a Connor McCartan three-run homer.
  • Matthew Meyer followed with an RBI single that made the score 13-6.
  • Once again, Davenport came right back with a big inning in the fourth, scoring six runs. All six of those runs came with two outs, making the score 19-6.
  • The score remained 19-6 until the seventh when DU added two more runs.
  • Northwood plated the final run of the game in the bottom of the inning on a Ben DeVries RBI double.
  • With the Panthers leading by at least 10 runs after seven innings, the game was ended by the run-rule, giving Davenport the victory.
