Football Moves To 3-1 With 55-20 Victory At Lake Erie

INSIDE THE GAME
- Northwood received the opening kick and drove right down the field. The Timberwolves went 75-yards in seven plays, capped by a Jacob Barlage to Brendan Teal 26-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead.
- The Storm started their first scoring drive of the game late in the opening quarter. Lake Erie went 79-yards in nine plays. On the first play of the second quarter, the Storm got on the board with a one-yard TD run to make the score 7-7.
- Northwood's Max Gonos connected on a pair of field goals on NU's next two drives. Gonos was good from 47 and 40 yards to make the score 13-7 with 6:04 remaining in the half.
- The final 5:23 of the first half was the key stretch of the contest. Northwood started the run with a defensive touchdown from Ricardo Jackson, who recovered a fumble and scored to make the score 20-7.
- After a stop on defense, Barlage found freshman Braylon Gardner from 29-yards out to push the Northwood advantage to 27-7 with 2:10 remaining.
- NU got a three and out on defense, getting the ball back at their own 23 with 1:02 remaining in the half. A 47-yard pass from Barlage to Carter Minnix put the ball at the Lake Erie one. Devin Brown capped the drive with a rushing touchdown from the one with 16 seconds remaining. That sent the game to the locker room with Northwood leading 34-7.
- The Timberwolves extended their lead around the midway point of the second quarter. NU went 50-yards in six plays. Barlage connected on his third touchdown pass of the game, this time to Lake Boos from eight yards out to put Northwood on top 41-7.
- NU expanded their lead early in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves went 75-yards over the span of 13 plays. Quarterback Ethan Hamby finished the drive with a one-yard touchdown run to push the advantage to 48-7.
- After Northwood had scored 41 straight points, Lake Erie got back on the board on the following drive. The Storm found the endzone on fourth down for a touchdown to finish off a 10-play, 57-yard drive to make the score 48-13.
- Northwood used the ground game to get on the board on their next possession. NU went 75-yards, all of which were on the ground, to find the end zone once again. Trent Hill capped this drive with a nine-yard run that made the score 55-13.
- The Storm capped the scoring with a 53-yard touchdown pass with under four minutes remaining that made the final 55-20.
