Ethan Hamby Named G-MAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
MIDLAND, MICH. – Redshirt sophomore quarterback Ethan Hamby from the Northwood University football team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Offensive Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday (October 14).
He is the second Northwood player to earn a G-MAC weekly award this season, joining Cole Simpson from September 15.
Hamby led Northwood to a 52-7 win over Lake Erie, finishing the game 20-21 passing for 224 yards and five total touchdowns (four passing). His 95.2 completion percentage in the game set Northwood and Great Midwest Athletic Conference records. It is also the highest completion percentage for any quarterback in Division II this season. Northwood's 5-1 start this season is its best since 2006.
The Timberwolves have now earned 11 G-MAC Athletes of the Week over the last three seasons.
Northwood travels to Hillsdale Saturday (October 18). Game time is set for 1 p.m.
