GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Saints opened the scoring late in the first half (36'). A seam opened up down the middle just enough for a Saint to score it from outside the top of the box, 1-0 TMU.
  • Gjon Melakuqi quickly tied it back at 1-1 with his second goal of the season in the 38'. Northwood's throw-in led to Melakuqi finding an opening at the top of the 18-yard box to score. Arthur White was credited with the assist.
  • At the break, the Saints had the 5-2 edge in shots, but teams were tied with three corners a piece.
  • Northwood took the lead in the 59'. Lathan Baker found the back of the net for his first career goal, 2-1 NU.
  • Thomas More tied it back up at two a few moments later in the 61', 2-2.
  • Northwood's Nathan Casal also added his second of the season, putting Northwood back in front, 3-2, in the 64'. The Timberwolves went nearly the length of the field as Antoine Bellanger found Casal down the right sideline. Casal scored via a long ball from nearly 25 yards out.
  • Thomas More would add on via a corner kick in the 73' to tie it back at 3-3.
  • Northwood's defense tried to hold, but the Saints' offense proved too much as they scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 82'.
