Volleyball Earns 3-0 Sweep Of The Cardinals

INSIDE THE MATCH

• Northwood went on top of the opening set for good at 2-1. The Timberwolves scored seven of the first eight points and eventually held leads of 8-2 and 12-4. NU eventually took the set 1-0 by taking the set 25-14.
• The Timberwolves started the second set strong as well, going up 7-3 early. The Cardinals responded with five straight points to take an 8-7 lead. SVSU kept the momentum going and went on to take an 18-13 lead. Northwood was the better team the rest of the way, using a 7-1 run to go up 20-19. NU went on to finish the second set on a 12-3 run to take the second set 25-21 to go up 2-0 in the match.
• Northwood took the lead 2-1 in the third and held the advantage the rest of the way. SVSU cut the advantage down to one at 10-9 and 14-13 but were unable to tie the score. The Timberwolves scored 11 of the final 15 points to take the final set 25-17 and cap off the sweep.
