INSIDE THE MATCH                                                                                        

• The opening set was tight early on, with Northwood leading 11-9. That is when the Timberwolves scored six straight points to take a 17-9 lead. NU led by as many as nine before earning the opening set 25-19 for a 1-0 lead.
• Northwood and Alma were tied 7-7 in the first set when NU made the first run of the set, scoring four straight to go up 11-7. The lead stood at 18-13 when the Scots made a push, getting back to within two at 20-18. NU held off the Alma run and took the set 25-22 for a 2-0 advantage.
• The Timberwolves took control of the final set right away, scoring the opening eight points of the third. Alma got no closer than five the rest of the set. NU's final lead of 25-12 was its biggest of the set and closed out the sweep.
