RECAP: Northwood women's soccer earned their bid to the G-MAC Championship Thursday (November 14) afternoon, beating the Findlay Oilers 4-1 in the semifinals. Brooke Honeycutt's first-half brace put Northwood in the lead for good as Northwood added two more in the second half for the win.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Findlay's offense came out firing, rattling off four shots in the first four minutes of game action. The third and fourth shots came back-to-back as the Oilers struck first in the 4', 1-0 UF.
  • The Oiler offense had seven of the first eight shots before a Findlay foul gave Carly Boyd the opening on a free kick. Her cross to the top of the box allowed Honeycutt to head it over the Findlay keeper, who was off the line too far, 1-1.
  • Just four minutes later, an almost identical header from Honeycutt put the Timberwolves up 2-1. Boyd's cross to the box gave the Timberwolves the window to score, 2-1 NU.
  • At the half, Northwood's keeper Lindsay Jacob was stellar in front of the net, finishing the first half with five saves. Northwood had the 2-1 lead but was outshot 13-3.
  • The Timberwolves added on in the second half. Mari Jackson got into the action in the 67', scoring off the crossbar and into the net, 3-1 NU.
  • Ashtyn Lange put the game on ice in the 75' when a Findlay handball gave Northwood the penalty opportunity, 4-1 NU.
